National Call Center for Homeless Veterans
VA is committed to ending homelessness among Veterans. Our focus is threefold: Conducting coordinated outreach to proactively seek out Veterans in need of assistance, connecting homeless and at-risk Veterans with housing solutions, health care, community employment services and other required supports and collaborating with federal, state and local agencies; employers; housing providers, faith-based and community nonprofits; and others to expand employment and affordable housing options for Veterans exiting homelessness.
The chaplain's responsibilities include performing religious rites, conducting worship services, providing confidential counseling and advising commanders on religious, spiritual and moral matters. Chaplains are commissioned officers stationed wherever there are military members, including combat environments.
The Military Crisis Line, text-messaging service, and online chat provide free VA support for all Service members, including members of the National Guard and Reserve, and all Veterans, even if they are not registered with VA or enrolled in VA health care.
Primary Care Services for Veterans in the Rochester area: Offers individual and group counseling to veterans, as well as wellness workshops on a variety of topics including stress management, sleep, hygiene. Home based primary care, blood drawing and analysis, prescriptions including emergency medications, radiology.
